Auto-hide Dock

Automatically hide the Dock to reclaim screen real estate. The Dock slides out when you move your cursor to the bottom edge.

defaults write com.apple.dock autohide -bool true && killall Dock
Scope: system

Automatically hides the macOS Dock when not in use. This reclaims valuable screen space, especially on smaller displays like MacBook screens. The Dock will slide into view when you move your cursor to the bottom edge of the screen.

After running the command, the Dock will restart and the setting takes effect immediately.
